The Carriage
Like standard forklifts, the lifting attachment can be tilted from its horizontal position to backwards and forwards. The actual amount of tilt possible completely exceeds that of vertical mast forklifts. There is a large variety of lifting attachments offered, and this ability to position makes them as effective as possible.
Most telehandlers have the capability of tilting to a position that is actually parallel to the ground. Several units have rotating carriages also. This enables the operator to radially adjust the lifting attachment. This translates to the load being able of being tilted backwards and forwards, as well as side to side.
Load Capacity
Telehandlers have a load capacity rather similar to that of the vertical mast unit. The model's overall capacity will be dependent on things such as: boom angle and extension, whether the unit is lifting on rubber tires or on outriggers, and the amount of boom transaction deployed, if this is applicable. In addition, which lifting attachment plays a very main role, as does the wind, the grade the machinery is operating on etc. All of these specifics could be changing constantly and this gives the operator much more information to consider.
Telehandlers would often have several different load charts available to them, giving them a good reference they could utilize to determine a particular lift's load capacity. Depending on the unit in particular and the boom's configuration, the load capacity may differ by thousands of pounds all together.
